Study Smarter, Not Longer!

Bedford Seminars

Upper level CAS exams are very different than the mathematically focused preliminary exams, so you should not be studying for them in the same way you study for the preliminary exams. The upper level exams are instead more open ended and test your ability to understand and apply actuarial concepts to real life problems, preparing you to become a practicing credentialed Actuary.

I help students make the transition to passing the associate level CAS exams by focusing on the intuition behind the material, resulting in a deeper understanding which not only increases their likelihood of passing with less study time under the CAS's ever evolving exam format but also sticks with them throughout their careers.

As a practicing Actuary with 15+ years of experience spanning consulting, auditing, and primary insurance I have a deep and practical understanding of the material covered on both CAS 5 and 6U, and extensive experience explaining complex topics in an easy to understand and intuitive way. By teaching the big picture and the "why" of the material rather than simply regurgitating the "what" or "how", along with teaching proper study habits and exam taking strategies, you're able to cut down on study time needed while increasing your understanding of the material and likelihood of passing.

Regardless of the exact problem format, to successfully pass upper level CAS exams with confidence in today’s environment you need to fully understand the material on a deep and intuitive level, and that is my focus. You could pass upper level CAS exams by memorizing the "what" and "how" and drilling endless practice problems overfit on the released pre-2020 exam topics, but that will result in sub-par understanding and a much longer and painful path.

Please take a look at the product pages, I'd love to help you along on your journey to become a credentialed actuary.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"I wanted to send you a note to let you know I passed Exam 5, I couldn’t have done it without your material, it was so well done and clear. This is actually the first exam I’ve ever passed on the first attempt and I think that speaks volumes to how great your stuff is for Exam 5. Thank you a ton!"
